RTC Events
We run 3 events each year; Winter Series, Summer Series and Tour of Falkirk.
Winter Series
Our Winter Series is 9 small, informal events over the winter months. There are Road, Trail and Country (RTC!) To be eligible you need to complete a minimum of 6 events with at least one in each category. Obviously, if you do more the best 6 count. Positions are based on cumulative time- each event being approximately the same distance. And as always being RTC it’s free!
The series consists of 9 events:
- 3 parkruns
- 3 winter time trials
- 3 classic cross country
Summer Series
The Summer Series is six local races. To eligible you need to complete a minimum of 3 events, although you are welcome to do as many as you wish. Overall position is calculated by using the WAVA formula (age related)
Tour of Falkirk
The tour of Falkirk is a series of 4 events we host across 4 days during June. 3 are held in the evenings (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) and the final event is usually the Falkirk Parkrun on the Saturday Morning. You must complete all races in the tour to complete the series.
Tour FAQs:
- Q: Will there be any more info sent out?
- A: Each day during the tour some more details will be put on Facebook and Strava as well as a summary of the previous days event.
- Q: I wanna be a tourist...how do I do it?
- A: 🤩 Come along and do ALL 4 events to earn your "tourist" badge 🏁
- Q: How do you know who's won?
- A: Fastest overall cumulative time across the four events wins. Times from each night will be published the following day. Parkrun results count as the time from Saturday (not your Strava!)
- Q: I cannae make them all, what can I do?
- A: We appreciate that not everyone can do all the events. It's totally fine to do as many as you can manage across the Tour. Times don't count towards the tour tally but all are welcome to come along and join in one, two or three if that's what you can do.
- Q: Can I bring my performance enhancing dug to run too?
- A: Nope, only to the parkrun! Sorry pooch.
- Q: Is there a warm up before hand?
- A: Not officially. Feel free to get to the location early to do a warm up run beforehand.
